In Vabi Elements, each building and each room within a building contains various properties required for the calculation modules. These room properties are categorized into Room Templates and Building Templates.

There are six different Room Templates:

  • Room Requirements: Contains the assessment conditions or constraints intended for calculations, such as design temperatures, temperature exceedance criteria, warm-up supplements, etc.
  • Use: Includes characteristics related to the use of the room (room type). It also includes a combination of internal heat gains linked to a time schedule.
  • Architectural: Contains all predefined building data for a room, such as standard allocation of all standard constructions.
  • Ventilation: Includes characteristics related to ventilation and infiltration in the room.
  • HVAC: Contains all characteristics of heating and cooling emission systems linked to the room. This includes a total installation concept including Generation, Distribution, Air Handling, and Emission Devices, which are linked to the room via this template. The choice of ventilation system is also made here.
  • Domestic Hot Water: Contains all characteristics of hot water systems linked to the room. This includes a total installation concept including Generation and Distribution linked to the room via this template.

The Room Templates are linked to the defined rooms. It is possible that there are Room Templates in the project library that are not linked to any rooms. Under Properties > Rooms, you can link the rooms with other desired templates.

There are also two Building Templates:

  • Building Requirements: Contains a combination of requirements related to building regulations.
  • Building Operation: Mainly specifies preferences regarding sun shading control and opening of windows.
