Vabi Elements 3.11

In this latest version you can calculate with phase change material (PCM) in Vabi Elements Building Simulation. Furthermore, it is possible to specify an ATG correction, and the geometry has been thoroughly addressed.

Reference climate years

From version 3.7 onwards, the reference climate years of 2018 are included as standard.

To use the climate files, follow the steps below:

1. Extract the ZIP file
2. Place the extracted files in the following folder: %allusersprofile%\Vabi\Elements\Data\Climate files\
3. Start Vabi Elements (Restart)
4. Open “Project data > Environment, here you can select the new climate files

Library

To use the library, follow the steps below:

1. Download the zip file
2. Extract the zip file
3. Move the file VABILIBRARY-##.vl to the folder where the current library is stored.

Vabi IFC Layer files

If the IFC export does not work. For example, because the class structure of the layers is incorrect, or because it is not possible to set the IFC Options correctly, standard IFC layer files can be used. Vabi has created three layer files especially for the IFC export from Autodesk Revit to Vabi Elements. These text files can be read into Autodesk Revit, so that the IFC export options for Autodesk Revit are immediately correct.

• If you want to export the Rooms, choose the file txt.
• If you want to export the Spaces, choose the file txt.
• If you want to export the Areas, choose the file txt.

Please note: Rooms, Spaces and Areas cannot be exported at the same time in an IFC.

Installing the IFC layer file in Autodesk Revit:

1. Click file > export > options > IFC options. See Figure 43. A new window will appear “IFC export classes”. See Figure 44.
2. Click on Load…
3. Select one of the above files.
4. Click Open
5. Click OK
